Oil is the lifeblood of your engine. Dirty oil or a lack thereof, is one of the leading causes of engine failure. Engines have bearings, shafts and other mechanical components which all need lubrication. Dirty engine oil loses its ability to lubricate properly. Motor oil comes with additives and detergents which help prolong your engine. Over time, these additives break down. If the old oil isn't changed, overheating and sludge will occur.
Most oil change internvals are between 3,000 and 5,000 miles, but we recommend following your manufacturers' guidelines.
